LATE: Episode 5

Each episode of LATE keeps getting better and better. The camera work and music are identical to LOST and the lighting is impeccable. Higgins and Quest were hilarious, but I also love A.D. Miles’ evil character. He seriously plays a creepy guy all too well. :p

Possible 2010 Emmy Host?

Source: insidetv.aol.com

He hosted ‘Weekend Update’ on ‘Saturday Night Live.’ He hosted the ‘MTV Movie Awards’ and the ‘MTV Video Music Awards.’ And, of course, now he’s got his own late-night talk show. But is Jimmy Fallon ready to host the Primetime Emmy Awards?

NBC executives apparently think so, as ‘Late Night’ host Fallon is the network’s top choice to lead the 62nd annual Emmy telecast when it airs on NBC on August 29, according to Variety.

Other potential contenders for the job: ‘The Marriage Ref’ producer and panelist Jerry Seinfeld, and ’30 Rock’/’The Office’/’Date Night’ stars Tina Fey and Steve Carell. ‘Parks and Recreation’ star and ‘SNL’ vet Amy Poehler was also reportedly a contender, but she is scheduled to give birth to her second child days before the telecast.

Besides, as per Variety, Fallon is firmly the top choice of NBC honchos, who have also convinced TV Academy (the Emmy people) board members that he’s the right funny guy for the job. No deal is yet in place, but NBC is expected to announce the host next week. Continue reading

Jimmy loves his Lions

Jimmy Fallon virtually commits to Detroit Lions

If Matthew Stafford and Ndamukong Suh make it big with the Detroit Lions, general manager Martin Mayhew might want to consider bringing in Jimmy Fallon as a talent scout.

Fallon, the veteran star of such comedic smash hits as The Entrepreneurs,Taxi and The Grungy Clementine – OK, that last one was completely made up, but really, would you have known had I not told you? – has had a knack for hosting future Lions draft picks on his late-night show … before they even become Lions draft picks!

Happy to be the beneficiary of Stafford last year and Suh this year, Detroit head coach Jim Schwartz sent a Lions jersey to Fallon with his name embroidered across the back.

Fallon was thankful, but quick to point out, “Maybe this is an invitation to play for the Lions. I don’t know what this is, but I’m not that good at football. I’m pretty awful. I’m good at Madden football. So if they need a virtual video game guy who plays football, I can do that. And I can tell you right now, because I do love Detroit, my team on Madden ’11 will be the Detroit Lions.”
